House for an Artist
Gandía, Spain | 2014 | #AcademicProject #Residencial
This housing project is located in Gandia, specially designed for a Valencian artist, José María Yturralde, who is a painter.
The project is based on three main points: first of all is his personal life; secondly, a thoroughly research on the land and the city in general; and finally, an analysis on the sketches, drawings and designs of the artist himself. After putting together all the points we come up with a very personal play of geometry, circulation and space which intends to transmit the personality of the inhabiter.
Two main volumens compose a house where the non-constructud space is playing the main rol of the project as it is granted as public area to enrich the urban space. On the other hand, the pure geometries, that compose the interior areas, expreses clearly the division of functions from the outside.
The building is located next to the river and has breath taking views of the city. It has direct access to green spaces and paths next to the river which helps create a more pure atmosphere as well.
